Sometimes people refer to a "cashier's check", but the correct terminology in the US is "officials check".

I actually had a check made out to me today, made out to my name, i took it to the payors bank to get changed (Wells Fargo) i had to supply 2 forms of ID, Drivers licence and Work Authorisation and then rubber stamp my right thumb print on the front of the check, check cashed and no charge :thumbsup:
