nope, the thread is about cheap calls to the UK :)

I think what I'm saying is that a few cents a minute is not only cheap but not worthy of wasting electrons on.

Last time I had to call the UK I used Google Voice, it worked out cheaper than Skype.

thanks Sally, my issue is the very slow lightening speed we have with BH, so although i have vibre, skype etc, none are of much use because of speed issues.

Oh I suppose I didn't think about how it actually works! Sorry.

I use Vonage App
It uses your internet, but it's quite cheap;
1.4c/min to landlines
10.4c/min to mobile (Only downside)

You don't need to have Vonage phone to register for the app.
Apart from that for free are FaceTime, Viber and now Whatsapp also has calling features (recently updated to iPhone users as well). And almost nearly everyone has whatsapp..:p

I use localphone.com it's not the best quality but I've never had a call drop. I don't have long distance on my landline and my cell phone is prepaid (not unlimited) so I signed up to call long distance in the USA. Calls to the UK are either 1 or 2.3 cents and USA are .5.
It takes about 30 minutes for them to update your account with credit once you put money on there. They give you a local # you dial on your phone that rings the # you entered, so you don't need to use skype or have your computer on.

They have been outstanding (ringbritain) with customer service over the past 2 days. Immediate response to emails and although i didnt expect any money back from the $20 i had bought, they have refunded me the $17 i have left without me even asking! Really great service.

why did your provider charge 40c a minute?? didnt they give you a local access number. guessing yr landline doesnt have unlimited calls

I use ringbritain and happy with it.

I use onesuite.com, have never had a call drop, costs 1-2c/ minute, I call via a local (free) number, .... and the sound quality is excellent, better that a traditional land line call. :)

It works from any phone, land line or cell, and I can even call from work without sticking my employer with a big bill, or indeed any bill at all. In fact the cost is so low that I sometimes call my employer's foreign offices from home and don't have to worry about the cost.

I have recently started using NobelApp on my iphone, connects to my Enjoyprepay act and now I dial direct to the UK from my iphone.
No fluffing around with calling planes ect.
Costs are in the 3C per min region to a land line,
Slightly more to a mobile.
