The drunkest people I saw in Amsterdam were ALWAYS the Brits (who could hold their alcohol) and the Americans (who could not). |

The truth behind that particular expression has nothing to do with the dutch finding courage in a bottle. When that expression was founded Britains biggest rivals were the Dutch and in particular the Dutch East Inda company...so therefor anything negative had the word "Dutch" put infront of it......"Dutch courage" however is the only one thats stuck to this day.
