Boston airport to Salem - best travel options

Hi there, so apart from car hire (not preferable) how did you get from Boston airport to Salem? I see there are ferries, buses and trains. Just wondered what you might have used and which worked out better eg comfort v price v connecting times. 2 adults travelling in mid summer.
Thanks in advance

While it was not from Logan Airport, it was from Boston proper, we took a bus to Salem from our hotel. Why would you not want to rent a car? After you have seen the witch museum, the house of seven gables and toured the tourist shops, there isn't a lot to see or do in Salem. The surrounding area, however, has lots to recommend it, i.e. Marblehead, and for that you really need to have a car to get around.

Boat's fun, and scenic. Guess it depends what time you need to travel and how much luggage, and whether you like boats. And whereabouts in Salem you want to be.

Uber. It's a ten minute ride.

If you're talking Salem, MA and not the NH one...yeah, Uber. Parking it utter wank in Salem, but at least a lot of the meters take card.

It's a shit place to get into and out of, especially in summer.

There's really not much to do there that a day trip won't cover, so you'd want a car to get out and about.

Gables Museum, not worth the money, but they take part in the MA Fun, Free, Friday thing for one of the days and it's pretty enough. The witch museums, most of them are a bit shit and mostly for Halloween, or are plays. The waterfront area is really lovely and there are loads of nice places to go eat.
