I live in the Pacific Northwest. I would definately recommend a Cruise or trip to the Glaciers along the Alaskan coast. Glacier Bay was stunning!
A trip up to Mt Rainier and walking some of the trails up there is beautiful too. Lots of nice small guest houses nearby if you want to explore more.

Our friend is working on a ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and says he would love to remain there forever! Hopefully we'll make a summer visit.
