Back to school - don't bring peanuts
#152

The strong smell of peanut butter causes me to throw up (for real, projectile). People are far more concerned about me throwing up on them than that they may cause me to die of anaphylactic shock.

My eldest does that with the smell of fruit, mainly watermelon, strawberries and bananas...not as bad now as when he was younger, but can still be "interesting" at times....

Both my kids (in different grades, state school) came home with an A4 paper notice with bold large letters titled "PEANUT ALLERGY ALERT".
"We have a student in our class that has a peanut allergy" .... "please don't send in peanut items made at factory or be where peanuts are used" blahblahblah. All in a condescending 16 point font, probably printed on the desperately needed paper donations
Its absolute bollocks. How many kids have allergies to plenty of other things? Can i get the school to send out notices saying don't send your kids to school with my list of health related demands?
My kids will be sent in with their favourite peanut butter sarnies for lunch. Tastes good, high in protein lower in carbs and they do not require refrigeration.
But how long before "please" becomes "do" followed by prosecution?

Microwave popcorn really has to be the worst. Especially when people make it in the workplace.

As an aside, I've viewed it at least 10 times myself.

Would you be OK if your kid's school allowed cats to roam throughout the school daily? For my kids, that would have been fine and they would have likely got a great deal of pleasure. Would that make me a responsible person if I demanded that cats be allowed to be brought to school?

Sometimes I just don't know what's wrong with people.
