Have a great time. We were back in the UK last year...towards the end of April. The weather was fab...we had a great time. We spent a few days travelling from Heathrow to Cheshire...because it was my SILs first UK visit and he wanted to visited Oxford and Wales. A week in Cheshire...then a few days in London before flying back. Loved every minute of it

Re: Back to Blighty
It hasn't stopped raining since we arrived. Heading back to Manchester tomorrow, flying back to Chicago via Dublin on Tuesday. Nice seeing people, but can't wait to get back home.
We're on T Mobile and their Simply Global service has been great. Unlimited texts and data as part of our regular monthly charge. No issues connecting to various networks in the UK.
Enjoy your trip.

Thanks guys. @rete I came over in 2011 but my mum was ill. I went back and forth my first year. Longest time was 8 weeks but have resided in US since 2011. Used to live Humboldt but now east bay. Excited and nervous at the same time at my trip. Will be strange to be surrounded by British accents. Note to self do not say rest room or parking lot or say something is super cute !

I wouldn't half mind a month in Blighty myself. A week in London then road trips to the Cotswolds and Cornwall and then north to the land of my fathers, Yorkshire where the girls are the prettiest and the beer is the best

Re: Back to Blighty
Day flights BOS or JFK to LHR do it for me. I have to get up at 4am to make these, which means by the time I get to my hotel in London then I'm knackered enough to sleep at midnight. A couple of drinks helps. Bit tired the next morning but then generally fine from there on.
I return from LHR on late afternoon/early evening flights, which makes for a long day. I try to grab a couple of hours sleep on the plane to tide me over, and then hit the sack as soon as I get home. The sleep on the plane seems to be the key for me to help the adjustment.
