Baby #2 is here
I haven't been on here lately, as I've been busy.
Our second little US citizen arrived safely by emergency c-section a month ago. Born two weeks early, he weighed 8lb 12oz.
We are all happy and healthy. Bizarrely, within two weeks of his birth I had lost the 40lbs I gained in pregnancy, as well as an extra 10lbs.
Not bad for a 44 year old

Congrats!
I am not sure i'd be brave enough to start parenthood at 44.

Lovely news--a new baby for Christmas!
I loved the post-birth weight drop too, but I can't recommend it as "easy".... at least not the preceding 9 months.
