Another tragic incident
My wife was at work yesterday and noticed that the guy who has the office opposite hers was not at work yesterday or Monday.
Its a pretty small office so she noticed and she checked the office diary and found that he was due in. She reported him missing to her boss who in turn reported it to HR. A couple of employees went over to his apartment to check on him and noticed his car in the car park. They got the super to open his door and the instantly knew that he was no longer with us. 911 was called and as yet no details on the circumstances have been released, but the guy lived alone and was not close to any family members. He was a fantastic guy who i had met on many occasions and always appreciated his company. He will be greatly missed. BW |

Re: Another tragic incident
i would say he was in his late 40's and looked very healthy (but i think he smoked and drank a lot of coffee).
Wife is shocked and upset, but is ok. Im upset with the CEO who yesterday said that as he hadnt shown up for work he was probably dead, and if not she would fire him for not showing up! I hope she is gagging on her words now! |

An utter bastard. Be sure to start planting wee anchovies all over the offices before you leave, like a month or so. In your exit interview tell them you had to leave as the stench of something so corrupt was just too strong :D
And he got a mouthful :D |

He said to me if this happens again and you go back again for your mother then its over, job gone  My friend broke her leg in THREE places over Easter (we're talking complete plaster from hip to ankle) and is the single mom of 2 under-5 boys. Her boss told her if she was not back at work within 2 days of getting out of hospital she would be fired. Oh and the day she came home from the hospital there was a co-worker waiting for her at her door with a pile of work she was expected to do that evening and have taxi-ed to work in the morning. Nice and understanding these people eh? |

Nice and understanding these people eh? if i was faced with something like that, I would have been in the main set of getting a wheel chair, go back to work and then start to mention how the workplace isn't wheel chair accessible/friendly and violates ADA.... etc etc etc... claim discrimination - twist the tide on them or atleast be a thorn in their side even if i didn't have a legit case. Have I been in the US too long?? |
