Another Shipping Question

Now we're definately heading back home, can anyone who was previously in Canada (Ontario) give me the name of some decent company to ship my stuff back?

I previously used John Mason International, but I can only find their English website - they don't seem to have a Canadian counterpart.

Thanks for your help :)

If you sort through your paperwork from the move out, you'll probably see who did your move at the Canada end, and can maybe use them.

We used Amfreight International in Brampton. They dropped the container outside the house (40') and we loaded it, they gave us 6 hours to load it, and unloaded it at the other end, only gave us 2 at this end. Cost me an extra £40 to get a company to clear it through customs at South Shields.

Thanks Simon, would you recommend this company? Did they keep in contact with you throughout the shipping? I guess packing and unpacking yourself keeps the cost down - do you think it's worth it?

Thanks for your advice.

Would recommend, we had no hassle. They gave me a point of contact in the UK and I just contacted them when I was ready. The shipment was delayed due to transferring ships in Holland, but it worked out better for ourselves at this end. The container was in the UK for about 4 weeks before we sorted out final delivery, and we expected to be charged a storage fee for the container, but we didn't receive anything.

Like I said in the mail, the only extra was a £40 customs clearance fee and a 50 minute trip to South Shields.

Simon.

Bit cheeky to jump on your thread, but does anyone know any decent shipping companies for moving out of Calgary? We want to pack/unpack ourselves.
