I hope you facebook'ed, twittered, Linkedin'ed, and pininterest'ed it as well as put it up here otherwise it did not actually happen!
On a more serious note, good for you! May we ask as to why you were given this honour?

TriMet the local public transport provider gave the city a tree to celebrate the 75th anniversary of City Hall being built. The tree was planted in the garden at City Hall. As Council President I was part of the 6 man group 'planting" it.

Reminds me of a joke western expats in my wife's country used to tell:
An expat observed a two man crew working their way down the street. The first man would dig a hole, when he was finished the second man would follow behind and fill it in. After watching them dig and fill several holes the curious expat approached and asked why they were digging holes only to fill them in again. They explained that they were normally a three-man crew planting trees - one would dig the hole, the second would place the tree in it, the third would replace the fill around the tree. Today the man who normally places the trees was sick, but that didn't prevent the two healthy men from working their jobs.

Nice one.
Have you got to cut a big ribbon with a pair of giant scissors, yet?
