All Systems Go!

All Systems Go!
I needn't have worried. Everyone has taken the news that we are moving to the US very well. No mean comments this time around, just lots of 'Good luck' and 'Hope it all works out for you' with no hints of sarcasm! Yay!
Husband and I are now working our notice periods at our current jobs. I have 15 working days left (as I only do 3 days a week). Have a leaving night out and loads of people have said they will come. I like feeling liked.
Got confirmation that we got the apartment we wanted and that the flights for husband are cheaper than we initially thought.
Also got news that daughter will be covered by medical insurance for her kidney condition.
I am a very happy little bunny at the moment! woo-hoo!

Fantastic. I'm so glad your move is going according to plan. When do you fly out and are you shipping your possessions? Am really interested in your plans as we are going through the same at the moment so keep us posted.

Re: All Systems Go!
Thanks everyone. I am getting really excited about it all now that it is coming together.
We are not taking any furniture from our UK home so we will be furnishing from scratch. I like shopping. Husband will get there first so he will get a few bits a pieces no doubt but I will probably buy most of the stuff myself either online before I get there or after arrival. What else will I have to do?!
I have been and bought 2 new, huge suitcases to pack my clothes in and the kids will have one each. I needed to get a bigger one so I can get in all my little treats that I know will help me settle. Like Cadburys chocolate, kola kubes, rhubarb & custard sweets and various other things that spring to mind between now and October 30th which is departure date!
Also HooiserDaddy I am trying not to think about what Indiana winters are like. I imagine they are similar to Michigan winters and from what I remember of my time there the winters were fricking freezing and very snowy. God I hated clearing the driveway!

Yes - we bought a sodding great big Samsonite just before the weight restrictions reduced... :curse:
