Adjudication Center
Hi-
I sent my I-130 application to the Laguna, CA center, but just realized that it was supposed to be sent to the Nebraska center. I didn't pay close enough to the detail about sending to the location of the "petioner", I sent it based on the beneficiary address (mine)....Is this a serious problem?? Thanks to anyone who might be able to help! |

The beneficiary is the one you are petitioning for. I'm not sure what happens to applications that are not sent to the correct service center. |

Either they are returned or forwarded.
Also it does not go to Nebraska but to the Chicago lockbox address. The USCIS instructions here state - http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/usc...0045f3d6a1RCRD it states "A petitioner residing in the United States should file I-130 at the Service Center with jurisdiction over the petitioner's place of residence". I filed the I-130 s for my parents with the Nebraska Service Center, (because Nebraska has jurisdicition over where I live) per their instructions, and the USCIS then forwarded the petitions to the California service center. So where they are mailed to - depends on petitioner's place of residence. |
