4th July events?
So what's everyone doing this year?
Local cinema is showing Happy Feet 2 for a buck, in the morning, so that's our highlights.
Planning on going to a neighbouring town in the evening for their events, family games and activities in the afternoon, a tribute Rolling Stones gig and then fireworks.
All depends on whether it'll piss it down or not as expected and if we can find parking, there isn't much at the park and I don't fancy the hike through the woods with the kids after fireworks if we have to park else where....so boring aren't I.
Can't be arsed with checking out any of the town parades, there's one going on in a neighbouring town, but parking is a bit of a mare...and there's a good one in the town we used to live in, but to lazy to bother with that one.
So, you folks, got to have more fun shit planned than that?
We don't even have any sparklers, we finished those off during New Years and totally forgot to buy any on our last visit to Maine. They're banned in MA, along with fireworks...yet we still see adverts for them in massive stores in NH, so annoying.

We (extended family) all went to the beach camping at the weekend, but I had to come back for work. I will be on me todd on the fourth. Family come back on Thursday.
I must remember to buy sparklers for use in November.

Unfortunately, there is a big parade in this town and we have to be part of that. I'm considering going dressed as the enemy.

Re: 4th July events?
I, while not 100% awake and not really thinking too much on Saturday morning, agreed to go to our friends' house. Now I think about it, it's going to be god-awful hot; there's probably going to be strangers there and I really don't like this kind of thing anyway.
I shall, if I can get away with it, be feigning a gout flare-up

Neither does the missus. Actually, it seems a lot of places around here don't. Except those who work in places that are closed because their town has a parade going past, in which case it's hit or miss whether people get paid or not.
Parades are fun though. Less so when it's triple digits outside and you've got kids mind, but oh well
