whatever you do, do NOT add pickled or even hardboiled eggs to the above menu or you will be providing your own fireworks.

Mark and I both have the day off on Friday (he works Saturday; damn retailers), and we'll probably do a movie marathon. We've got a stack of DVDs (some of which we've had for 2-3 years) that we've never watched so we have made a promise not to buy any more until we watch the ones we have. Some of the DVDs we still need to watch are:

Crash
The Last King of Scotland
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (two-disc edition)
Traffic
Star Trek Captain's Log: Fan Collective
The Aviator
The Prestige
The Last Samuri

(We actually saw the last two films at the cinema, but we haven't seen the special DVD features. We love watching all that stuff!)

Gotta remember to buy some popcorn before Friday!!

Crash is well worth watching...pay attention to the opening scene. Last King of Scotland...worth taking a look. The Aviator...one of the most boring films I've seen IMO. The Last Samuri...can't really remember it...so it wasn't memorable. The Prestige...haven't seen it but it was supposed to be good and it does have the added bonus of staring Hugh Jackman. Haven't seen the rest.

Enjoy the holiday weekend.

the in-laws will be coming this year, so i don't think i'll be able to find a lake to jump into, pissed arse drunk...

supposed to be shite weather here anyway, so probably hiding inside...be nice if the fireworks the next town over aren't cancelled, they probably will be though, but they usually have a good show on.

We're not allowed fireworks, apparently people in Illinois can't be trusted with anything that has a real amount of powder in it.
