Princess Anne had a very interesting yesterday. First she stood with, and seem to enjoy the conversation about Trump held by Trudeau ,Johnson and Macron. And to top that off then Princess Anne wasn't motivated to greet Trump and wife when the Queen asked her to come over to say hello. I guess Princess Anne knows when to stop entertaining unstable people.

I don't like Trump or AOC neither understand the word compromise but the difference is imo that AOC know the importance of working to build consensus but prefers to have a my way or the highway mentality. The Democrat party should look at the Republican party and examine how bad extremist are for the country.

Anyone can see that if AOC had been living in Venezuela she would have been a staunch supporter of Hugo Chavez and even today without a doubt Maduro. She's that kind of Socialist. Venezuela prior to Chavez was certainly far from being one of the poorer nations in that part of the world and there was a degree of prosperity spread among many of it's people. People like Chavez, Maduro and AOC possess a hatred of the wealthy. It's a hatred beyond any logic, irrational beyond words. Take their wealth, spread it around,, destroy businesses and jobs. The wealth leaves the country. the general prosperity goes with it, chaos, unemployment, shops with empty shelves and riots with the poor being even poorer are what they create. Yes it's easy to see what AOC really is. Even Biden disowns her and she's an embarrassment to Pelosi who can see that keeping the moderates together is the only way to keep the party stable. I predict she'll fizzle out like a damp squib and the disenfranchised poorer people in Queens will be no better off by the time she goes than they are now.
But then again koopy would rant like this if he got some boiled cabbage stuck in his dentures at the early bird special.

And for the purpose of record keeping, Queens is not "poor" and "disenfranchised". I've seen that lie told more than once when delegitimizing AOC.
Queens contains approximately 1/3 of the population of NYC, it's the largest borough and has neighborhoods ranging from wealthy to working class and everything in between. Queens is not as wealthy as say Manhattan, but the average income is slightly higher than the rest of the US.

That's the trouble with this thread populated mostly with lefties. I can make a comment on a political personage and the replies generally come back with personal insults attached if my post was not ditto head with the general lefty opinions. Lefties always seem to have that particular trait of being petulant and childish I happen to have around 90 percent of my teeth and I hate cabbage, boiled, baked or otherwise ****ed. Grow up for Christ's sake.

This is an interesting article about the polarisation of politics in the USA, and the deep and apparently unbending contempt that each side has for the other, especially relating to the President and his Democratic challengers. Anybody reading this BE thread will certainly agree with the article's finding! There is a complete and utter absence of goodwill between the two sides, here. Sigh...

Again! AOC is "that kind of Socialist" Far removed from the Socialists of Europe who through pragmatic rule and decision making succeeded in improving the lives and living conditions in Britain and France in the decades following WW2. I would include the Scandinavian countries in that group but in a sense they have developed their own kind of Socialistic system which is excellent. AOC on the other hand is just a naïve, opinionated, hot headed child , class warrior in the extreme and hater of all people of wealth whether that wealth was earned by hard work or not.

On the issue of Medicare for All, like Warren she has not been able to provide a sensible and workable answer as to how it would be paid for. Refusing to acknowledge that the huge cost of such a program would inevitably fall heavily on the shoulders of the middle class.

Lol. Look at the increasing proportion of income and wealth owned by the richest in the US and the idea that there is "class warfare" against hm is absurd. The US has "the best political system money can buy" and it's those with money that largely control what happens - the 2017 tax changes are a classic example of this.
When she starts locking up her political enemies you'll have a point. Until then the Venezuela comparison is absurd even for right wing talking points.
Again, how much does the current system - which leaves 30 million with no insurance and countless others underinsured - cost?
Pragmatic Socialism can work with Capitalism to the benefit of both. It has in Europe. It's all very well to preach about wealth and big business being the enemy of the proletariat but on the other hand believing in an agenda that in the end will ultimately destroy the Gold Goose benefits no one. It results in mass unemployment, bankruptcy, deprivation and widespread civil unrest. AOC needs to tone down her rhetoric and move more to the center left otherwise she will just be a non entity on the" far loopy left" and ignored by the moderate faction of the party.
