Re: 2020 Election
Mayor Pete seems to be doing well in Iowa but a waste of time overall since he cannot get the black vote and without that no chance of being nominated

Hillary Clinton 'under enormous pressure' to run in 2020
She really is quite delusional now, isn’t she?

Re: 2020 Election
So now Deval Patrick is going to throw his hat into the ring as well. Man, the kvetching from donors must be really bad if we're getting all these late entrants who have already missed the filing deadlines for early states.

From Politico - presidential race too close to call (that's of course as of today ). ... https://www.politico.com/2020-electi...d-predictions/
Also predicts senate to remain Republican, house to remain Democrat. Will be interesting to see where this goes over the next year!
Mayor Pete to the rescue?

Two candidates who don’t get a lot of attention. Admiral Joe Sestak, who walked all the way across New Hampshire.
https://www.joesestak.com/
He was a Pennsylvania Democratic congressperson from 2007 till 2011, I’ve always been on his email list. I believe he had a solid and honorable stint in the house, for instance being a cosponsor of “don’t ask don’t tell” and supporting the repeal of the “defence of marriage” thing.
Then there’s my old governor, highly respected and loved in Massachusetts- Bill Weld.

I believe he’s got on the ballot in several states. Not sure if he’s running as an independent or a Republican, that’s how little I know about his candidacy..

Re: 2020 Election
The other issue of course is his sexual orientation. I've been in California long enough to learn a little about Hispanics. The great majority are Catholic and believe in the teachings of that church which kind of places him in a negative light among that group perhaps even among African Americans for that matter.

You may be speaking from presuppositions rather than real experience?

My step family is Hispanic and Catholic and they support gay marriage and rights, and one is gay and still goes to church openly gay, nobody cares except maybe the most hardcore religious ones.
