Re: 2020 Election
Last night's debate was the last best chance for Trump to turn around his losing position in the Presidential race. Once again he used that opportunity to invest all his efforts in motivating his core supporters while turning off that small sliver of about 8% of undecided voters. Most undecided voters traditionally will break against the incumbent especially in a tight race. Trump's racist support for ultra white supremacist groups last night not only showed what he truly is about, but it effectively gave some of those undecided voters enough discomfort with that anti social support for racism, to shut the door on voting for Trump. You can see the fall out happening today with so many Republican Congressional representatives and Senators absolutely terrified being damaged by their connection to the GOP brand. THIS IS A BIG DEAL!
I would not be surprised if Democrats pick up the Senate seats in North Carolina, Georgia, Iowa and Montana mainly because of the toxicity of the Trump brand.
Trump not only damaged his opportunity to reintroduce himself to the country and ask for a second chance of winning back the White House but he also shamed the entire country last night in that farce of a debate.
Very proud of Vice President Joe Biden for attempting to maintain a civil Presidential stance while debating a third world autocrat.
Once Biden is in the White House and some time has passed we will be able to look back on this craziness as a sad and dangerous time in American history. We will get over the idea and time that a real autocrat ran America for 4 years but I don't know if the shame will ever leave us. And this should be a warning to other democracies because if this can happen in America it is also possible for a power grab to occur in other nations.

Re: 2020 Election
There was a spike in google searches last night using key words "move to Canada" & "how to move to Canada" the searches peaked around 10pm EST.
Oregon seemed to have the most people searching using these terms, followed by Vermont, Colorado, Washington and Minnesota.
National Post
If your youngish and skilled, it's not overly difficult to move to Canada.
After watching more of the clips of the debate from last night, man if I had someone like Trump yammering while I was trying to think and talk, I'd probably sound just like Biden, how can anyone maintain a thought with that man yelling like a 70 something year old toddler.

Another reason to like Michigan.

The next debate will have new rules to aid orderly discussions, the rules don't appear to be known yet.
Trump is playing the victim card of course.

Yeah, that's another reason to avoid obscure words; in today's world, there are so many typos that when I see something like this, my first reaction is to run through a mental 'spell checker' ... could it be "symbiotic"? no, what about "seminal", no, what about ... etc. Thankfully nowadays I just highlight, right-click and look it up!

Do debates ever move the needle? I can see why they might in the primaries, but at this stage devotees just want "their" candidate score points off the other candidate. I really doubt they change anyone's mind. I suppose it's just possible a debate might convince someone to go and vote when they weren't going to bother, but other than that it's hard to see much coming of them.

Re: 2020 Election
Biden has a way to go to catch Trump but it’ll be interesting to see how well this translates into a narrowing enthusiasm gap.
"Enthusiasm gap' sounds pretty ill-defined; I have very strong opposition to Trump, and relatively little enthusiasm for Biden; but my strong opposition to Trump is practically speaking an equivalence to enthusiasm for Biden, is it not? It's certainly motivating me to vote for Biden.
