This is probably the first time I’ve ever defended Trump, but the Sarah Sanders anecdote sounds fairly harmless to me. Not much more than an innocent joke between two colleagues. I know, Trump is the one with the power, Sanders is subservient, etc., but still.

There's a risk of latching onto every single thing he does / says and criticizing him for it. It tends to dilute the more serous stuff.

Thus far things are unfolding just like expected. Trump is struggling to paint Biden as an out of control liberal with hopes of taking everyone's guns away.

He can't out match Biden in intelligence nor political experience and no one with life experience, or just good old fashion common sense believes much of anything Trump says these days. Even many Republicans don't trust Trump enough to go out into the Pandemic. Which if you ask me might explain why Trump is hurting himself by telling him supporters to vote in person. By November the winter months will be upon us and that means flu season will make Covid19 a bit worse. I suspect many Trump supporters will go out into the pandemic to vote but some will think twice before getting infected just to support another four years of doom and gloom and Trump. So to recount we have had two big conventions and the lead Biden has over Trump has not changed one bit. Trump motivates disapproval and he is heading for a Butt Whipping.

I'm now in Michigan canvassing and will be here through the election. And let me say how cool it is to see the many Biden/Harris signs in so many yards. I think Trump won Michigan in 2016 by less than 4000 votes. This time around he is in trouble in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. But this time he is in trouble in North Carolina, Arizona, Florida, ect ect. And this disgraceful formerly published report of Trump calling people who join the military nothing but Suckers & Losers is the nail in Trump's coffin. This will prove to be much worst than when Trump instructed everyone to inject themselves with disinfectant. You don't disparage our American Troops.

We lefties are starting to come out of the woodwork round here - I've noticed a fairly subtle transfer applied to one of our local road signs that declares F**K Trump that remained unadulterated for at least two weeks and today a slightly less subtle 3 foot square professionally printed sign placed over a realtor's board on a commercial lot beside a very busy highway declaring Trump-Putin 2020. I've seen more folks in my rear view chuckling at my new bumper sticker than those scowling at it and the truck remains free of key damage, which is always a bonus.
Trump yard signs are still prevalent but almost no-one is sporting Trump bumper stickers, one or two keen types flying their Trump flags from their vehicles but compared to 2016 there isn't much visible evidence of Trump support on peoples vehicles - initially I thought it might be a waning in support, now I'm more inclined to think that their preferred media channel has scared them into thinking that we're coming for them and they aren't being quite so blatantly obvious in their support of their godking.

I find it very odd that people are so open about who they support...signs in the garden, bumper stickers etc. It makes them a target. I keep my preferences between me and the ballot box. You may think you know who I vote for...but you haven’t got a clue.

I would like to think that when my time comes I can look back and say that the bigots, racists, bullies, oppressors, et al knew that I found them to be vile examples of humanity to be spoken against whenever I got the opportunity. I am not so much a Democrat as I am an Anti-Trumper but I've found that the best way to get a job done right is to use the best available tools. My mind might be troubled with thoughts that I could have done more but it will never be troubled by the thought that I should have done something.

'First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me'.

Every time he denies saying something more witnesses call him out, and he doesn't remember or seem to care when it's something he said on television that's easily proven. When Fox News can't protect him from backlash over his most outlandish proclamations, he lashes out at Fox, never thinking himself responsible. Nearly half of America's voting public put him in office (with a little help from Russia) so they're responsible as well. They weren't all rednecks, racists, evangelical ravers, or conspiracy theorists, and they weren't all stupid, though it must be a pre-requisite for continuing to support him. There are times when speaking out can't be delayed, and times when a more appropriate response is a condescending attitude of pity and disgust. My opinions have shifted recently since it has become more obvious how Trump is being manipulated, and seeing him almost constantly on the news aggravates my mean side. The punishment I think Trump and a lot of his extended family deserve wouldn't happen without a second Civil War, which is of course unthinkable. Vote him out, get him into court, and prosecute him to the full extent of the law. Prosecute every witness that commits perjury in those trials and don't let them out of jail until the sentences have been served. Put Stone back in, and make Giuliani his room-mate. When the preponderance of evidence that the democratic system has been subverted with the aid of a foreign power can be so conveniently ignored, and the President can try to rule by a system of illegal decrees, it's a sad state of affairs. He's on the news channels in Canada every 10 minutes tonight, and the story is Lying Bastard over calling fallen soldiers "suckers" - it could go on for days unless he does something worse tomorrow.

Around here, people never, ever had yard signs for the presidential race. The only yard signs were for county sheriff, state representative and such, you could more or less guess party affiliation from those. This year, there are Trump flags, and yard signs for congressional representative of both sides.

I think it’s simply a sign that all campaigns are awash with money this year, whereas in previous elections, not much money was spent up here.

It surprises me when businesses put up partisan signage outside their business premises. Very low class.

It's a sort of cheerleading contest. If you have more signs up, your "side" is somehow better because you are shouting the loudest and have the fluffiest pompoms.

Isn't that the point to being an american though? Having that freedom of speech, assembly, religion whatever they have over there? And don't people have the right to disagree an didn't they do that peacefully for the most part until Trump came along at least? Aren't those people just expressing their rights as citizens?

I would like to encourage all the BLM apologists on this site to watch and comment on this video. I don't think it's fake, and I doubt it's a rare event. When I see shit like that, I lose all sympathy for them and would welcome federal agents swooping in to lock them up and throw away the key. Sorry, but this is totally unacceptable.

Nobody needs your sympathy, the people in the video don't need your sympathy.
What is a problem is people claiming that they will ignore centuries of systemic oppression because someone's dinning experience was uncomfortable.
People can be for the idea that Black Lives Matter, and against the actions of some protestors.

it's such a wonder American tradition getting out and involved in politicking with signs in the yard and on vehicles. Definitely a strong overt form of expression. And a major way to encourage other neighbors to show their patriotism by using their own voice to make change happen. Sometimes it's one of the best forms of advertising. I've heard neighbors say to us seeing our yard signage made them feel comfortable displaying their own car and yard signs.
