Hat Yai

Hi all, working over in Malaysia soon (BUTTERWORTH), went there a few years ago and an Australian exchange pilot we had recommended visiting a town just over the border in Thailand. Never got the chance, but I'm thinking he meant Hat Yai. Any opinions on whether it is worthwhile. We are all in the Armed Forces so just looking for a good time. Cheers.

not exactly just over the border but it's okay I suppose. More geared up for Malaysians than Westerners though. I could recommend Danok. Now that's another story.............................

Cheers for that. Thinking back I think that may be the place I'm thinking about anyway. Looks like just the place and not too far a drive from Penang where we are staying or Butterworth where we are working. Any tips about the place would be more than welcome bud.

Haha, well that certainly won't be happening. It'll be a weekend of debauchery I reckon, pure and simple. As I say, any tips for places to go in Danok more than welcome.
