Anything happening near Bangbuathong?
Hi Guys,
Finally moved here with my wife in June, living near Bangbuathong, and wondering if there are any expats near me.
I have wheels so can travel a little, but getting fed up with mixing with just tourists in Bangkok!

Hi Blueflare and welcome to the BE forums. I'm sure we have some members in and around Bangkok who will be along shortly. In the meantime it would be great if you could post a brief introduction about yourself here:-

Hi Bluefire
Welcome to Thailand - if you are enjoying sporting activities that include off road mountain biking and scuba diving then joining the various groups that I am involved in will certainly open up some great connections to the various expatriate communities.
Please feel free to advise further if these activities appeal.

Hi there and welcome, I lived in BBT for about five years so I might be able to give you some tips. I'm not there any more though, but I still know quite a few expats in the area.
It's a great area IMO, right on the edge of BKK so you don't feel too constrained, but you can be in the centre of town in a hour if you want.
PM me for some info on where you might find expats.

Hi Nonthaburi, It would seem I cannot PM anyone yet as I have not posted enough.
I know the area itself very well, been coming here for 18yrs, but never needed to meet other expats as was moving around a lot.
The wifes family are from Pak Kret and all social life tended to be in the city.
Now I am older (But no wiser) I am looking for friends nearby.

I used to visit friends in Pak Kret quite a lot as it goes, if you've been visiting for 18 years you must be amazed at all the change along Ratchapruek( which never even used to be there) the 345, Cheang Wattana, the new Central in Bang Yai, Purple line etc!
