What's the education system like in SA Australia?
Anybody out there have experience in the education field? I'm wondering if you could tell me what it's like teaching primary education in SA. Do they have a state curriculum/national curriculum? Is it a good standard? Is there more or less work? Also am I right in thinking that it starts from Kindergarten and goes up to year 7? Some states call Kindergarten preschool and go up to year 6 so just wanted to check that. Any comments or information you have would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Australia has just introduced/approved a National Curriculum. If you google you should be able to find the website.

Thanks, googled after I'd written the thread and found out that they'll be rolling out the first phase in 2012. For anyone else interested in primary for SA they start from kindergarten to year 7.

In the Australian Capital Territory your child must enrol in Primary school if aged 5 or turning 5 on or before 30th April of that year. Primary School goes from Years 1 to 6.
Secondary School commences in Year 7 to 12. Secondary students who continue through the post-compulsory years will receive a Year 12 Certificate which lists all subjects and results gained. For those eligible there will also be a Tertiary Entrance Statement.
