Teaching in Melbourne

Could anyone please give me a brief summary of how teaching posts are filled in Victoria?

I am a primary teacher and would like to know whether you apply directly to an advertised teaching job, get interviewed and then selected by the Headteacher?

Any other comments or advice on teaching in Melbourne?
