Default Teaching in Australia... Some questions

Hi Everyone.....

I have been to Australia many times and I absolutely love the place, I have tried researching a little but haven't got very far in what I need to know, so hopefully you knowledgeable people will......

I have just completed my PGCE and have my first post teaching in the UK this October, I am qualified to teach Chemistry and Biology to and at A-level and Physics at GCSE level.

The questions I have:

1. Is there demand for Secondary Teachers (in my specialism) in Australia?

2. How much experience do I need in the UK first?

3. Is the Education System much different to the UK?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated

yes there is a big demand for your subject. Particually with the year 7's moving to high school

no experience really needed but i guess it would help

the system is different but not hugely so. i have always seen it as 5-10 years behind the UK in the way they do things.

hope this helps, pm me if you like, been here for 4 years now

Secondary Chemistry teachers will always find a job... maybe not so much Biology teachers. History teachers.... don't even give it a thought!
