Teacher training in Oz - Advice required

Teacher training in Oz - Advice required
Hi all,
We are moving to Melbourne on a PR visa next month. My OH wants to retrain as a secondary school teacher and we wondered how this would work in Oz:
1. He has a UK BA Hons degree in leisure & business - would this get him onto an Oz teacher training course?
2. What teacher training course is requred (equivelant to PGCE) and how long does it take?
3. Is this course recognised in UK if we were to ever return?
Ideally he would like PE as he loves sport etc.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
