Default Provisional or Full VIT Registration

I am currently completing my NQT year. I understand that before i can teach in Victoria, I have to be registered with VIT. Although full registration is preferred, I would be putting myself in an awkward position when approaching my employer for a reference. However, I understand that a provisional registration does notr require such a reference.

Does anyone know out there if the Victorian government will nominate you on the strength of a provisional registration?

Hi,

I spent 10 months in Melbourne and registered with the VIT. I was ok as had been working for 5 yrs previously but I do know that there were English there who had provisional registration through VIT and being NQTs themselves so it must be able to do. I originally actually applied for provisional registration but they moved it to full registration. The main advice I would give is to have certified copies or original documents as this slowed down my application. Hope thats a bit of reasssurance!
