Default PGCE in the USA

Hello,

I've come here for a little advice, i'm currently a uni student working towards a degree and then im going to go for a PGCE, i also wish to move to the USA in the long term (10 years max). Now i plan to use my PGCE to get a job at a college (or a high school failing that) over here, get some experiance then move. I wish to move to newyork (state), atleast this is the current plan.

What i want to know is how easy it is to work as a lecturer in the USA (NY) using my PGCE? what loops do i need to jump through? and is getting a green card easy if i want to teach in the USA?

Errr....well you get a job in a uni, you won't have to worry about the quota on the H1B...but to get it, you'll really need a fair bit of experience for them to bother with the cost, or be in a niche field...and the cost pretty much rules out any schools because they would be subject to the quota, and not being able to start work till Oct of the year you are granted the visa.

Have a look http://britishexpats.com/articles/us...rk-in-the-usa/

And see where you fit in...
