NZ Teaching

Hi,

Can anyone explain what U3 for example is in 'U3 decile 3'. I have found information about 'decile', but am struggling to find what the 'U' part is.

Thanks

Carnation

still not sure myself but have spent the past half hour procrastinating and looking for an answer, and apparently it refers to the school's "U grade" or size.

A U3 school has 101 - 150 students. There is a document online that outlines each U grade:

on page 16 (appendix 3) but same as you, I could not find anything at Teach NZ, Edgazette (what a novel idea if they had some sort of guide on there for teachers to work out what the ads were referring to...), TKI or the Ministry. Nothing at Kiwi families either.

but wait, there's more (and this is what I originally thought it referred to) - something to do with salary rankings??

Whenever I read Edgazette I always take the U3, U4 to refer to salary increments, and it appears to relate to my earlier post about school size?
