Letters of application for teaching jobs in Aus
Hi,
I have been looking at various job adverts for teaching jobs in Perth schools. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of writing letters of application etc. as they appear to be slightly different to what I am used to ie. "must be less than 5 pages" - i would normally try and keep it to less than two to avoid sending people to sleep, and I would include a 2-3 page cv. Is it really expected to waffle on for 5 pages?
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Michelle

5 pages, thats more like a dissertation.
i applied on line to SA and was only allowed one page. A few took up my references and asked questions related to behaviour management and learning styles and pedagogy.

The Cv is different too and according to this link so are the meanings of some of the words on the application forms.
I've made my CV on Careerone.com.au using their templates and it gave me a good idea of what to include. It also talks about cover letters on there too if that helps.

cheers...ive secured a job however, without changing my cv or covering letter...me thinks im the only one who applied..but hey what the hell. I will use them when i apply for a job nearer civilisation though.
A couple of schools took up my references and my head said they seemed really interested in my behaviour management!
Heads reply was in all cases, firm but fair.
