Default ECE/nursery/preschool in british columbia

Hi everyone,
is there anyone working as an ece or preschool teacher in british columbia?
Im a trained primary school teacher from the uk, looking to move to british columbia. I gather the situation for elementary school teachers is pretty bad there,(ie no jobs!) so was wondering about working in daycare instead. I know it would be a paycut, but i was wondering how easy it would be to:
a0 find a job
b) get registered.

I have a pgce in primary teaching, 3 years experience with children 0 - 5 and a year as a nanny.

Does anyone also know what type of visa i would need? I have heard some people say that a temporary work permit does not let you work with children, but some others have said it will.

any advice much appreciated. Thanks

Charlotte
