Do i need NQT year or not???

Hi there,
With a bit of luck we will be granted our PR visas later this year.
When my partner and i arrive in OZ i will have only just completed my PGCE course, NOT the NQT year aswell.
So, does anyone know if i will be able to teach in NSW just with a PGCE and no NQT year????
Any advise on this subject is much appreciated. There are many threads on other areas but none seems to actually give a definate answer.

Thanks.

Tim

Try this link for NSW teaching.

https://www.det.nsw.edu.au/employmen...trteachers.htm

I'm a bit miffed, because I've been teaching since 1996, I've been advanced skills and a Head teacher, but according to this, I'll have to undergo an orientation programme. Still, I'll just wait and see what they say.

Rachel.
