Australian Private Schools - Relief Teacher Pay
Just curious if any of you lovely people have worked in Private schools on a relief teacher basis, if so, how were your wages worked out? One of the local Private schools said they pay according to your experience and the amount of years you've taught, I have statements of service from my last ten years of teaching in the UK to prove my career to date, so should this be enough or does UK experience not count?!

Re: Australian Private Schools - Relief Teacher Pay
I've done relief in private schools. One school asked to see evidence of the number of years worked in the UK to pay me accordingly. Another one just asked me and wrote it down!
I've found pay is very similar to the state schools (after the Dept of Education finally recognised my UK experience and moved me up the pay scale).
In my experience its harder work in some private schools with longer days and more duties like lunch and recess, however the kids are usually nicer.
