This may be a complete red herring but I was able to prove that my psychology honours degree was equivalent to a 4 years Australian honours degree for the purpose of registration. It was a while ago and they may have tightened things up but in Aus the fourth year is an honours year - the qualifications committee may be swayed by the wording, after all, you too have an honours degree, you may be able to argue equivalence. Generally though, I know that only "4 year trained" teachers are accepted here these days.
