The worst place to die.

The lady who teaches my aqua-fitness class had a family emergency and canceled the class. Her brother in law died on Tuesday of a massive heart attack.I talked to her today conveying our condolences and she told me he had just dropped down dead while shopping in our local Walmart.

It really threw me. I know it's awful for the family (he was only 59 and relatively healthy) but I couldn't help thinking what an awful place to take your last breath, on the grubby floor of a Walmart Store probably being gawped at by all sorts of weirdos.

That is just not right:(

I'm sure there are worse places, where would you really hate to be if you died suddenly?

Toilet while seated in a public restroom seems unappealing.

This is a fun, festive thread. It could make a person feel quite down if a person wasn't so eggnogged.

On the toilet, 30,000 feet over the Atlantic. Walmart doesn't sound good though. :(

In a hospital, of dementia, when all you wanted to do was to be at home, as you thought the germans had incarcerated you and were experimenting on the man in the next bed to turn him into a carrot. You didn't recognise your nearest and dearest, and you thought everyone had abandoned you.

My dad, last year.

Sorry, not funny I know, but I don't find death funny.:(

If you die of a heart attack, at least it is sudden, not the long drawn out death, cell by cell, losing every part of you inch by inch. It doesn't matter where, so much as how.

I'll add some photos of frozen dead people on Mount Everest to this jolly discussion.

Sorry if I offended you.

The point of the thread was not making fun of death and the friend whose BiL died were very upset about the loss.... but also on a lighter side the family knew the poor guy would have been devastated that anyone he knew would even SEE him in a Walmart Store when he was alive.

That's one of those things you sort of know about, but it just doesn't register. But I had no idea people SAT with the frozen preserved corpses on the way up and down!

I guess I'm not very good at posting threads about "delicate" subjects. Now I am feeling all guilty about offending people:o

On the other hand that was interesting to read about the Mount Everest frozen dead:nod:

No I think you did well. It's a very hard subject to process. A woman two doors down found out a few years back that she had sinus cancer. From thinking she had a cold she was given 3 months. She decided against treatment and went with hospice care. She evidently passed away in the car away from home.

In my sleep, like my grandad. Not screaming like the passengers in his car.
