Wouldn't be too sure about that.

Lots of English think that losing Scotland wouldn't matter or even that England would be better off without them.

If I were Nicola Sturgeon I would hold off indyref2 for a bit.

At the moment it is very doubtful she would win it, however in a couple of years time...

True, give him time to mess even more things up, and he will, then hold a referendum.

I agree. She should tone it down a bit. Always leave them wanting more

A lot will depend on how Britain fares economically outside the EU. If the economy goes down, unemployment starts rising then the Scots Nats will gain more supporters and maybe enough to win another vote on separation with a bid after independence to become a member of the EU.

I'm as Celtic as they come but I'm not getting tricked into one of your 'collectives'

Well the Conservatives finished ahead of Labour and the Lib Dems in Scotland. So a Corbyn/Left win would have then accelerated this process, right Lion in Winter and UKWinds?

Just to answer the OP's question... Yes I think it will split the UK...Having got friends in Edinburgh who have actively campaigned against the referendum result , strategically voted in the election. etc Their next plan is to vote for separating from England . There is a very strong movement in Scotland for this ..Will it get stronger with Boris's win.? I suppose it depends on the results that follow leaving the EU. because now it's the turn of business to finally get a say in things. Will the economy of Scotland suffer? Will it start to hurt the pocket. ? Will tax's go up? Lots of questions still left to answer

Would you believe ...One of the biggest money making business's in the UK is 'Salmon' caught/bred in Scotland 'but shipped out around the world from Heathrow airport ( of all places ) so it can be claimed as British.? It brings in almost a billion pounds a year. If that can be 're-claimed as Scottish..Quite a dent in the economy I would have thought. I haven't even begun on the whisky trade

Why make it a dead one? A bit of fish spit would do them good

That sounds suspiciously like the very same hubris that caused this mess in the first place.

No idea who "Capey" is.

If you mean Cape Blue, he's currently on an enforced sabbatical a la Shard.

Yes, she should keep her powder dry.

A few years of neoliberal English nationalism won't do her cause any harm.

This lays it out rather clearly and succinctly (considering the complexity of the task).

Could an independent Scotland join the EU after Brexit?
