Insurance company we use for our renters insurance, since COVID they have been working from home, but they no longer do phone calls due to limited staffing, but their website isn't working correctly and I can't make the change online, so what would have taken maybe 10 minutes on the phone has turned into a multi-day pain in the ass to change the address.

Sometimes dealing with the government is difficult when it comes to healthcare, my wife is running out of options medication wise for bipolar, basically with time her body becomes tolerant to medications and they stop working, and the "cheap" options are exhausted, so the doctor wants to put her on a new medication, new class of medication but its not typically covered, so far the government has turned down the doctors request 2 times, so the doctor along with another doctor is pushing the government still for coverage, its an expensive drug being its new, but just so annoying the red tape involved in trying to get medications approved and covered, the government doesn't like expensive medications.

It’s a difficult one J. I can understand it from the government’s point of view…and also from the patient’s point of view. The patient needs help pronto. So give that help now (especially if backed by specialists) and let the government sort their end out.

And it's not like the doctor went to the newest and most expensive, doctors have exhausted their ability to use the cheaper generic drugs, bodies build tolerance to this type of drug, its why so many with bipolar or schizophrenia end up taking so many different medications in their life, rarely does one medication work forever without a relapse and needing to try something else, in my wife's case she has a very severe form of bipolar and its difficult to manage, she can relapse with little warning, and she never misses a dose, but her body just becomes tolerant.

Antidepressants can do the same in some, eventually stop working as body builds tolerance to the medication.

At least we are not in the US, the drug price there cash without coverage average $1,450 to $2,100 a month.

However its a lot cheaper in Canada, averaging around $300 to $500 per month depending on dose but still fairly expensive.

Yeah US prices are insane. Unfortunately they sell drugs cheaper to countries like Canada, UK etc…leaving folk in the US to pick up the bill for R & D.

The only med I take is for bronchiectasis. It is a small capsule containing a minuscule amount of powder, which I take through an inhaler, once per day. Cost $10 each.

2 weeks ago Apple replaced my large screen iPad because of battery issues. The replacement died this morning. Got an 11.15 apt today.

Pulling out of work last night my truck's oil pressure plummeted to nothing and the check engine light came on, went to the dealership and it was shut so I called OnStar and they said not to drive it so I had to call my wife to take me home which added an extra 2 hours to my day. I went to the dealership this morning and they said they can't look at it until the middle of next week and the guy doing the bookings tried to encourage me to just drive it anyways. Whilst it is probably just a bad sensor I'm not prepared to risk it if I don't have to so I told him to keep it as I had my car with me.

Of course now I'm driving my wife's car, I actually bought my truck so I'd never have to drive her car again. I got in it and instantly felt like one of those homeless people that drive around with all their possessions piled up to the roof and of course it was raining so it was a nice surprise to find the wiper blades were falling apart and useless when I switched them on. And of course there was no gas in it either. I'm now off to change wipers in the rain.

Hopefully the culprits will be IDd and dealt with .
They've transfered the nest material to another pole close by, and are hoping the Ospreys will continue to nest.

I'm so glad that I have a man that does weekly checks on all our vehicles. He always checks tire pressure, wiper blades and oil and water. He even reminds me when the gas tank is getting low!

I am not a happy Apple customer. They are having to order a replacement, which will take about a week. So thought, sod it I will go to Costco and buy a new one. Arrive at Costco, iPads aren't essential so they can't sell them for the next 3 weeks. Of course my iPad is bloody essential.

Maintaining my wife's car is a lost cause, I bought it new but you'd think I got it from a scrap yard the way she treats it.
