Oh, right, and if everyone were enlightened then Ukrap would rule the country and Ayatollah Farage would be the much-awaited messiah?
I think this election proved that idiots like him only deserve to get booted off the political stage - not invited onto it.
1 single seat for all the blind followers in the country who were silly enough to vote for the most submoronic party out there? Lol... and here he is pretending that he didn't just get a major kick up the butt from the voting public...

So let's cut through your bias and look at some of the facts shall we?
- Nearly 4 million people voted for UKIP.
- UKIP were the third most voted for party
- UKIP gained the greatest increase in votes by a long chalk (9.5%). The next greatest increase was SNP who increased their votes by only 3.5%.
- Their numbers of votes were more than SNP and the Lib Dems combined who collectively gained 64 seats which makes you wonder how fair the system is.
- UKIP achieved all this despite sustained assaults by most of the media and by all of the other parties.

"Mr Farage said he had been "reluctant", but decided he "owed it to the party to stay" on as leader."
This actually made me laugh.
I have no idea why anyone thought he was going away, but I did think that at least he would get some summer hols in first. Probably will anyway.

Extremely well, their one MP is already composing the letter to be sent to the EU commission saying that the party is withdrawing the UK from the EU with immediate effect...
Ohhh wait.. he needs another few seats to be able to do this doesn't he...
still he can continue to turn his back when they play the EU anthem can't he..

Not at all , I am impressed that UKIp cou,d organise a re election confererne, contact all its members, issue ballot papers etc allwithin a few days of the former leaders resignation.
It is such a good example of democracy that the other parties should follow.
UKIP and Farage democracy personified.
Expect Milliband to follow.

straight talking Mr Farage said:
"It is frankly just not credible for me to continue to lead the party without a Westminster seat. What credibility would Ukip have in the Commons if others had to enunciate party policy in Parliament and the party leader was only allowed in as a guest? Was I supposed to brief Ukip policy from the Westminster Arms? No – if I fail to win South Thanet, it is curtains for me. I will have to step down.

I guess he had not thought it through to when he should " step up having stepped down"

What is happening with UKIP.
The one and only MP ( until he returns to the Tories ) Douglas Carswell has informed the Ucrap organisation that he does not need to employ another 15 people just so that the party can claim £650,000 that it can due to its election performance.
Nigel Faralieing bastard also now belives that having been rejected by what he and many thought was a shoe in old Tory seat his prospects of being elected or failing for the eighth time as an MP will be in the labour heartland.

...So presumably all the other MPs are taking the money?

#5160

Of course. They do not claim to reject "the system" as Nige and Co did.
UKIP's founder, for example, stipulated that all MEP salaries should be donated to the NHS. Nige stopped that double quick time - nose straight into the trough.
Anyway, it's all a bit moot - all is not well in Ukipland.
