Before Paulry posts let me be one of the first to complain about the dramatic move to the left in UK politics.
We have seen the UKIP tidal wave take how many seats is it , maybe 2,
Remind me how many seats did they hold before thus electoral tidal wave, was it 2 !!!!!

Who cares ,I forcast that UKIP would not win a significant number of seats and was right.
Mark Reckless lost his seat and it is now posdible that Ukip will only end up with one seat.
Smug yes.
The UK swing to the left continues with Ed Balls loosing his seat.

The BBC one was extremely accurate, so people must tell the truth..

Clacton held with a reduced majority.

Most gratifying to see that Britain is not feeling the racist vibe.

They were talking last night about how they conduct the exit poll - it's not a verbal poll. In areas where they do an exit poll, they give people a replica ballot paper and that goes into a box - so a secret ballot.

Yes, that is a very positive outcome

It also seems to be a reasonable turnout, which I think is also a good thing

A disappointing result for UKIP, but not exactly a just one where 1.5 miliion people voted for SNP and much less than half the number who voted for UKIP, yet SNP won 56 seats while UKIP secured only 1. The media, especially the BBC, have a lot to answer for - as do the LibLabCons who fought a dirty campaign - especially towards the end. UKIP had a well balanced and coherent manifesto and in a fair and clean fight they would certainly have done much better.

I suppose a tory win is better than a labour one but I doubt if the tories will behave any different to the way they've always done. So, come Monday, expect it to be back to business as usual: Westminster contempt for the suckered-again voters and the resumption of Britain's steady decline.

The SNP comparison is a hell of a red herring, they got their votes in only 58 constituencies, UKIP were in well over 4 times that. SNP got some 50% of the votes cast in Scotland, UKIP didn't get that in ANY constituency.
