What? Some people more 'prone' than others (obviously everyone doesn't get them!!----not all alcohol drinking or alcoholism leads to cirrhosis!)

At best this OP is a reflection that the poster is old and out of touch with young people.

I'm young(ish) and don't think people should just pick their gender. You've got those bits or these bits. You change change them, for sure, but gender fluid / non-binary guff is just....well, guff.

You might have to explain to me what "bits" has to do with gender. Because bits is irrelevant to gender.

People who are anti gay often are in the closet.

I'm wondering if it's the same with people who are anti trans.

putting "bits" aside, why do you feel this need to control how others navigate the world?
Saying people should not choose their gender is saying that people should act, look and behave in certain ways. Why do you feel a need to try to control others in that way?

Quite a circular argument.

We have no idea how many young people "dint have an issue" and in, any case, young people grow up. Toddlers don't have an issue with racism, teens do. Adults do.

Everything imposed by society can be seen as a trait of age.

History is made by the young (or more accurately, the next generation) so that is tautological. However, they are influenced by what the elder generation say and think, so the older generation has role to play in imparting knowledge and experience.

No it's not. It's perfectly common for people to identify gender as sex. It's a very recent revelation that there are other things that make up an individual's 'gender'.

That Young people learn the bigotry of racism from their elders, doesn't seem a good argument that their elders should strive to impart the bigotry of gender stereotypes on the young.

Some people do have a gender identity issue, we know now that it isn't as simple as 'bits' (biological sex) but I do think an environment which encourages expression ends up confusing as many people as it aids. I think we can accept gender fluidity without encouraging it.
