Why is Damian Green reading out Mayhem's speech ?
I'm sure he is saying the same Mayhem has been saying for over 1 year now.

The reclusive 'Disgraced Former Defence Secretary' appears to be missing from the Brexit monstrosity, some oversight that is.

Yep, the problem is, people remember just how much "voice" opponents had in Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal under the far right.............

The USSR and it's satellites weren't better - but that's because politics becomes a circle where left and right meet at a junction of dictatorship. Labels are dangerous and extremism always maginalises those who don't agree.

However, none of this is an excuse for allowing hate-speak and division.

... True, and as The Confederate States of Britain becomes a reality, it'll be very unwise to appear to support either. Sad nation.

Sadly, Red Eric, no there isn’t. If there were, it might check the gangsters currently in power.
As best as I can make out, the current example is an aged ex-private school educated Trot, who hung around ‘til he got the job. What makes me so p#####-off is the way he goes on about everyday hardships without having a clue about them & going round the younger set trying to look like Lenin & growing vegetables.
What does this man know about food-banks, the prohibitive cost of UK public transport, energy rates, or being on benefit, or more usually these days being excluded from it...???
I was at Alacoutim last weekend, and I met a UK couple who told me an eye-opening story. They came from Tunbridge Wells, the epitome of English middle-class living. They told me that the local sally-army centre has had to organise a separate overflow centre plus, in summer time, extra temporary awnings to cope with the tide of homeless/ street people over-crowding the centres. Separately, a food-bank charity is opening a 2nd unit in the town as the existing centre simply can’t cope. It wasn’t uncommon for them to have people door-knocking looking for hand-outs or odd jobs. This is leafy, sedate Tunbridge Wells OK?; - where retired Colonels and Mr Disgusted used to write his loony-letters to the Daily Mail from….
I’ve no way checking the story, but equally, no reason to dis-believe them either.
I’m told the UK doesn’t have Revolutions, rather Evolutions…. Well, after all this Brexit hoo-ha is over there'd better be one big evolution to address the inequalities or, imo, there will be a rising.
I repeat what I’ve stated in earlier posts – the question now is fast approaching… REPUBLIC...???
You can all start turning your index-fingers against your temples now....

A good deal more than the vast majority of MP's who either don't know or simply don't care. That particular example gets himself out and about, talks to people and has an understanding of what life is like for them. He doesn't actually have to live their lives to want to govern in a way that does something about reducing inequality rather than increasing it as has been happening of recent decades.

I'm never quite sure why it's such an issue that some of the people who argue for a fairer society aren't on the roughest end of it. I suppose it's easier that way to argue that they're all hypocrites and pretend that's a good reason for not voting for them, whilst simultaneously bemoaning the state of things. Saves actually facing up to the real problems and the fact that there are ways they can be addressed, if only there was the will to do so.

I think there's quite a big evolution quietly happening in the background while the squabbling Tories and Brexit hog all the headlines.

It wasn't unpredictable or unpredicted, either

UK house pricing is unsustainable so May promises £10bn (a lot more than a year's EU membership fee) to extend help-to-buy with the potential outcome of inflating house prices once again.

Keeps the blue rinse brigade in Acacia Avenue happy boasting about their property values, but is just kicking the can down the road.

That said, Sajid Javid is proposing another £3bn for a housebuilding programme that through increasing supply will hopefully offset the above somewhat.

I think you must be right Red Eric;- you certainly know a lot more about politics than I do.
…. Guilty, I suppose. I am one of those people who bemoan things whilst doing nothing about them, although in my defence I’d offer the excuse that the nation I used to live in is now, imo, planning to betray its expats wholesale, for some dodgy exit benefits;- so I do feel slightly justified in my stance.
I’ll strike you a deal, I’ll stop posting & leave. The politics are all yours.
You’ll understand though, that I’ll have to decline Jeremy’s kind invitation to appear before his Committee for Public Safety when he comes to power.
Good luck in your Struggles.

Having watched (well, listened to) a lot of the Tory Conference, just 1 thing is clear to me ... Having spent almost half of their time talking Labour down, they must be scared to death of the Labour Party

Next following : more of nothing : the Mayhem speech (desperately trying to keep her job and the party together).

I personally think she is simple marking time until she can leave. keeping Boris at bay and hoping to god someone with some sense pops out of the wardrobe.
We are that ship without a rudder ,sail,or map that was predicted right at the beginning of this veeeeryyyyyyyyy long debate.
