Re: Shamima Begum has UK citizenship revoked
[QUOTE=BritInParis;12884296]The Home Secretary deprived Begum of her British citizenship; this was upheld by the courts. As for evidence she is a Bangladeshi citizen, start here.[/QUOTESo, a Uk court has to suffer an appeals process, nothing new there.
]if, as you say she is covered as a compulsory citizen by descent, under their laws. seems odd they have denied she is their citizen without a legal context being stated. |
Re: Shamima Begum has UK citizenship revoked
What if the UK gov won't fly her back?
How will she get back? Her parents are still in the UK presumably? I assume they'll try and help her get back. |

Her father lives in Bangladesh. Her brother in law was not supportive.
She's ****ed then. She's backed in a corner with virtually no options. I wonder who paid for the legal challenge to get this overturned. |

Who the **** do you think paid for it? The UK taxpayer most likely.
Whatever the outcome, the video I watched the other day she was trying to show she was sorry for the decision but she was apologising to nobody. Her remorse appears to be more self-pitying than for anything else. |

I bet that wasn't an easy decision for the Legal Aid folks to make.
Jesus though, talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill. Can't the government just bung Bangladesh a few quid to take her back? If they could manage to get Jordan to take Abu Hamza back a few years ago then surely this should be easier. As long as they promise not to execute her then there's no legal issue from the UK's perspective right and she's a scumbag so it's not like anybody is really going to give a toss what happens to her when she gets back to Bangladesh anyway. |

How on earth is a foreigner in a foreign land entitled to legal aid? Is that the norm?
