That was earlier than the two I found. I just went to today's story and checked the associated items at the bottom of the article and used Bangladesh in a word search.

It is unclear whether the family could move anywhere at present. The UK home secretary, Sajid Javid, caused controversy when he ordered that Begum’s British citizenship be revoked on 19 February, despite her having no other nationality. It is illegal for any country to make its citizens stateless under UN law.

The foreign ministry in Bangladesh – where Begum’s parents were born but where she has never been herself – later confirmed Begum would not be entitled to Bangladeshi citizenship.

Poor little mite, the death of a baby is so sad. Begum's choices have had some terrible consequences.

Well I am sure that most of us feel sorry for the innocent child but now she can't use the child as a bargaining chip. I guess she could now petition the Dutch Government about her relocating there as her husband is a Dutch citizen.

Syrian Democratic Forces have said the baby is alive and healthy.

Maybe not https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47500387

If the reports ARE true, perhaps those calling for vengeance against Ms Begum will be satisfied that she has now lost 3 of her own children due to her misguided actions. Both she and the child have become victims of an understandable reaction to the horrors that daesh perpetrated on its victims - who, let us not forget, were mainly other Muslims. However, the difference between the "civilised world" and daesh should be the way in which we treat those who oppose us. In this case, the child was condemned for a crime of which he was innocent - a black mark against UK "justice".

I am not aware of any crime the child committed or was condemned for, seems the child was/is a UK Citizen, do not know about Bangladesh.

A quick perusal of you favourite news source will sadly find many stories of children suffering at the hands of parents.

It is the mother that refused to send her child to safety. Not the UK. This baby is/was a British Citizen and so could have been removed to relative safety, the paperwork put in place and then placed with the grandparents or extended family.
Most all parents would put their children's best interests first. One might have thought this person would have taken up any chance to get her child out of the camp. Something denied really to the many innocent refugees & their families in these camps. For whatever her reason was, she did not.

The earlier article has been updated. It seems they have confirmation the child died of pneumonia.

Sanctimonious twaddle, no-one has condemned the child for anything except his mother and she has done so through the choices she's made. If you think the colour of daesh's victims is of any relevance to this subject then you're sorely mistaken, and just creating some race angle to use against anyone who sees it different. And for suggesting that the death of the child might somehow satisfy those of us who want her gone, well that's pretty low, but not surprising.

ISIS along with Begum and her 'husband' condemned this child - no one else. To suggest that anyone would be 'satisfied' with the death of a baby does you no credit.

We'll agree to differ - but I struggle to see the moral difference between your attitude and that attributed to the mother. The main difference seems to be that she actually put her own life on the line too - whereas you post and pass judgement from the safety of your computer.
