You should post that in the 'Post EU Referendum' thread. Oh my god, the salt that would ensue

If there is a Russian cache of damaging videos etc. My money would be on them being leaked if Russia takes a hit in Syria.

Well I don't know how its lame argument when it seems fairly obvious all sorts of interest groups are donating money to both parties. There may be better indications but a quick search pulled up the following :

Top Interest Groups Giving to Members of Congress, 2016 Cycle | OpenSecrets

So the argument is because you don't like politics of one group that justifies another group trying to use money to buy influence ?

[QUOTE=Lion in Winter;12223137]And they manipulate the political process and the government for their own private and personal gain.

Complete other kettle of fish from bodies such as unions.[/QUO

All these groups are trying to manipulate the government. How to stop it I don't know, Shorter election seasons ?Limits on campaign spending ? Term limits ? Reduce allowable donations ? Allow only individuals to donate , same amount from everyone ?

Lawyers are amongst the biggest contributors, certainly they are looking after their own interest, or the NRA.

How strange. I never mentioned the Koch Brothers' policies.

Interesting that you still want to equate interest groups in their entirety with the Koch Brothers individually. You really can't see the difference between "retired" (the top interest group in your second link) and two individuals? And your link doesn't include PACs, such as the one run by... the Koch brothers:

"Only 20 donors contributed the $11 million. Half of the money came from Charles Koch and two others"

"The super PAC spending, however, doesn't tell the story of the Koch's national engagement. The network, overseen by Charles and David Koch, has spent almost thirty times the amount of the super PAC - nearly $400 million in 2015."

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016...d-much-n508101

As I said, your argument of everybody does it is pretty lame.
