It's hard to understand why the GOP lends its reputation to this anti-democratic imbecile. I can understand Cruz and a handful of other low moral politicians, but the majority of the party? Maybe I'm watching too much CNN.

I'll just repost my earlier thought in case it was missed.
Since the vote takes place after he's gone, I wonder if that might make some Republicans more likely to vote against him? After all, last time they all supported him, he was still in office. He won't be in office this time so it's not actually removing their man.
It might also improve their image and build a few bridges.

I suspect that at this point they are more interested in who gets to play with the 70+ million people who voted for him, and can vote again in the midterms.
