How does she not meet the requirements, isn't just about anyone born in the US a US citizen by birth? (I said just about anyone as I don't know for example if foreign diplomats give birth in the US, if their child is a USC.)

Filthy lowlife is right.

It's going to take a long time for the country and for the nature of political discourse to recover from this man.

It was an easy one to predict because she's half black.

But I still checked off my bingo card.

Kamala is referred to as a woman of colour. It all smacks of the sh*t thrown at Obama. It would be a refreshing change if the candidates just stuck to politics...not personal attacks.

This article is about Hair Furor & showers, but - I hasten to add - not the kind of showers mentioned in the Steele Dossier.
According to this article, he actually said this: "Because my hair - I don't know about you, but it has to be perfect. Perfect" - Really ... does he know the difference between thinking and speaking? Apparently not!

Actually, the argument I read just now is more subtle than that; it's not that she wasn't born here, but rather, she was born of two non-citizens in the US, so she has 'birthright citizenship'. Seems like a long, tortured, waste of time but something more for people to latch on to ...

https://www.vox.com/2020/8/13/213666...orn-in-oakland

Trump campaign legal adviser Jenna Ellis retweeted an op-ed written by law professor John Eastman in which he argues Harris is “not entitled to birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment as originally understood,” citing a fringe legal theory holding that children of temporary visitors to the country are not conferred citizenship even if they are born here.

They're basically one step away from calling her an Anchor Baby.

Even though both her parents came to the US completely independently as LPRs and met in college.

I said on here yesterday that I have already had to correct a work colleague on this point, because they thought that a child born of 2 immigrants was not eligible. I directed them to Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the US Constitution.

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been Fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

To be fair, that particular statement of his should be unexceptionable. For any normal human being, it would pass as a facetious comment. Or, to put it another way, gentle self-deprecation. I mean, he claimed his comments about sticking a lightbulb up his ass & drinking bleach were just facetious ....

Further, the National Socialist administration in Germany did a lot of solid work for working people. Excellent housing estates, schools, subsidized holiday camps, etc ... much of which is still in use today. Pretty much all the Trump administration has done for workers is kill them, by the hundreds of thousands.

That's pretty much the claim I heard on the radio during the night but I'm not sure if I heard it on CBC news or or one of their broadcasts of, say, PRI.

Most of you have made up your mind. For those who haven’t, the prosecutor will close with what she opened with. The United States is “in tatters.” Look around at the shuttered businesses, the hospitals stuffed with those struggling to breathe, Americans at each other’s throats. This president offers you no way out. You alone can show him the door.

Perhaps we should start a thread "The USA is ****ed because"

I guess every post would mention Trump.

There again I don't want posters thinking I'm a smug Canadian laughing our asses off at the state of things south of us and until they get their shit together we cant even come down and boost the economy by buying cheap gas, milk, cheese and other stuff.

His younger brother is in a NY Hospital, apparently seriously ill, but no details as to why.
