I'd love to go fishing with Bernie, but think he might be prone to doing world changing diplomacy in his slippers, and without brushing his hair. I wish I had that much hair.
Trump is just an embarrassment, it would be like shooting the Jerry Springer show in the White House. Intellectuals fleeing north across the border in terror could strain our capacity to handle refugees and might necessitate the building of a wall, which we could contract out to Mexicans running from the cartel violence in their country and we could then offer them permanent resident status in return and bill the US for the wall.

So is this Bloomburg guy a viable option ?

Surely he must be an improvement on the present two leading Pres candidates.

Hillary's starting to look a little grim, as Trump pounds Cruz on immigration (watching a messy bit of Fox) and I wonder if the panic could spread enough for people to adopt an "anybody but Trump" mindset and split the vote. I'm seeing ads for candidates I've never heard of.

Unless someone runs as an independent, the November election will just have the 2 front runners are usual.

Unless in one of the early primary important states, the primaries are a total waste of time in reality. By the time my voting state (California) has their primary in June, chances are we will already know who the republican and democrat will be, and I'll end up with a ballot with people on it who have already dropped out of the running.

Many states also have closed primaries, so democrats can only vote for candidates in their party, and Republicans only vote for republican. Some states have open primaries, some have a mix, not fully open, but not fully closed.

It's a stupid system, waste of time and money.

This article argues that Ted Cruz is not qualified to be elected as the next president of the US as according to the articles interpretation of the Law he is technically a naturalised US Citizen not a "natural born" citizen.

Ann Coulter - January 13, 2016 - WE'RE ALL RUTH BADER GINSBURG NOW

Not that he is looking likely to beat Trump anyway.

Trump. Clinton, Cruz, Sanders whoever wins, this country will be even more politically polarized than ever and for years to come. None of them have the slightest chance or the ability to bring the country together unless some immense catastrophic occurrence takes place

Here is a rather sound libertarian anti-war piece on the Trump candidacy. A classic quote from it: 'When Bill O’Reilly asked him why he didn’t support putting ground troops in Syria, he answered “Do you want to run Syria?”' Those of us who disapprove of the rampaging Empire and its serial war-crimes will enjoy reading about the only candidates who agree with us.

This is an interesting article

Is Bernie Sanders the American Jeremy Corbyn? - BBC News

I still want to see Trump v Sanders for the presidential run off :-). Would the establishment try and run an "independent" candidate?

Earlier in the thread I commented that Trump's language was at a Grade 7 level. I was wrong. This linguistic analysis puts it at Grade 4!

What's even more interesting the way he uses language to sell his message to the public (especially 'that' segment of the public). Well worth watching this 6 minute video for the analysis.
