Hey that's not fair. I've just had breakfast and I have to look at yours every day. However after all this time I've managed the trick of keeping it down

How is it possible that that thread only went to 47 posts?

It was back in the BE heyday, too.

Trump is so unpopular that even third string Dem primary contenders are polling better than him. Even Fox News is admitting how much people hate him. If you don't impeach a person who has openly broken laws that prevent foreign meddling then why is it even an option? One case from 20 years ago doesn't make a trend, especially when it was so frivolous in the first place.

This article argues the opposite:

"Republicans paid a modest, short-term penalty, while the costs to the Democratic Party appear to have been larger and longer-lasting."

Are you saying that normally you wouldn't be able to keep it down? You'd get excited over a photo?

It certainly says something when John Bolton thought Rudy Giuliani was well dodgy.

Indeed. Without the Clinton impeachment we may well have got President Gore regardless of all the shenanigans from the GOP and their cronies..

Here's the possible scenario though.
Voters are going to be faced with the choice of a somewhat obnoxious old man presiding over a healthy economy and low unemployment and (if Biden loses the nomination) a far left liberal nominee (Warren) with an agenda that makes many voters (including the moderate Dems) uneasy. Sanders more or less in the same league politically as Warren would not be a good choice for President with a dicky ticker and which could trigger another heart attack or worse if the daily strains of office took their toll. .

The rest of the Democrat nominees are non-entities so it's either 4 more years of Trump pro business and sound economy or Warren who scares off a lot of voters and whose far left programs have uknown consequences.
As for Biden he hasn't shone so far as expected and even as a moderate doesn't have the stuff that would appeal to a very large cross section of voters

Unless the situation changes between now and Nov 2020 I would place my bets on Trump getting a second term. If he's removed before then it's anybody's guess where the chips will fall and not guaranteed to be in favour of the Democrats either

As far as the impeachment hearings are going it seems to be closed door affair to date. It will have to be far more open and informative to the public as time goes on. Secret witnesses and secret testimonies just wont cut it.

In what ****ing universe is Liz 'Capitalist to my Bones' Warren far left? Presumably the same universe where there's such a thing as far left liberal. Man you love oxymorons, don't you?

I mean, surely only the farthest of far left candidates would give a standing ovation to Trump when he declared the US would never be a socialist nation, right? This isn't just me being petty is it?

The only thing that scares them is that she's a woman who might win the election, but she's about as far left as my right pinky finger, and she's the exact same brand of shitlib as Biden or Clinton.

Sanders isn't even far left and he's growing even more mask-off socialist day by day.

I'm not sure if the rich don't pay some fckg taxes. Who says they don't? Apart from Warren and Sanders that is. I have actually heard Warren claim that taxing the rich would pay for her Medicare for All. If you can believe that bullshit Ill' give you great deal on the Brooklyn bridge

Amazon paid exacly $0.00 in income taxes last year, bootlicker.

When we're talking about 'the rich', we're talking about the billionaires for whom even a 70% marginal tax rate would still be chump change. **** it, bring on the 90% taxes of Eisenhower's era and they'll still have more money than they'd know what to do with. It can't be understated how much a billion dollars actually is. The difference between a billion dollars and a million dollars is basically a billion dollars. If you even try to tell me that any person deserves to have that much money to themselves without paying back into society I will straight up kick you in the face. In Tekken II, naturally.
