All those times that he talked of schooling people I never actually thought he meant that he was a schoolboy.

I should have spotted the resemblance.

It wouldn't be a stretch to assume that most, if not all people earning that much or more have at least two cars. So in terms of worldwide income, just about everyone posting in this thread, if not absolutely everyone, is in the top 1%.

We're all the elite on this blessed day. Feels kinda dirty, TBH.

Everything Trump touches dies. A career Ambassador humiliated simply because Trump is insecure. Shameful.

Have to confess I haven't subjected myself to any of his pronouncements recently but I'd have thought he might avoid that sort of trashy talk like the plague. Thought he was more into obscurities and Latin 'n that.

While Trump is clearly insecure, I woudln't describe the Ambassador as humiliated at all. His description of Trump was accurate (hence Trump's tantrum), and the ambassador's, and most of the British governement's, opinion of him is now out in the open. Trump can see that this is what the Government was really thinking of him when he was on his recent state visit (again, hence the tantrums). There is no way the ambassador will lose face over this, only Trump will.

Now he knows about the UK, I personally can't wait until he finds out what Daddy Vladdy really thinks of him.

He'll probably think 'useful idiot' is a compliment though.

We only have one, 18-year-old car. This means that Cape will no longer consider me one of the elite.

I can only hope I will still be allowed to enter Zone 2.

We have three

One of them is 11 years old and fully paid off though, and was recently given to my son, and mine will be paid off next year just before it is six years old. My wife is the only one with a brand new car, bloody elitist.

If Boris wins then Darroch is toast obviously, given what a suck-hole he's turned into. When he was foreign minister he said he would never knowingly go to any country where he might be in danger of meeting Donald Trump, and now..... he's just another Quisling.

She ought to be ashamed of herself.

The US is almost impossible to navigate without a car though. The simple of operations require driving in most parts of the country due to distance and lack of public transport. Before I got one I was trying to balance grocery shopping on the handlebars of my bike. Not the best, and in winter I had to use the bus which took a very long time - and I was fortunate in that my area actually has buses.

At one point we had five. The husband wanted a small, light on fuel thing to get to and from work whilst having his Ute for manly stuff and both girls were at home.

Back on the Ambassador, he hasn't been humiliated. His thoughts have been validated by Trump's behaviour and he was due to bow out at the end of the year anyway.

I make sure she self-flagellates every morning to remind herself of her brazen decadence.

It really is though. Not so much in bigger cities where you could be in a neighborhood with most of what you need withing walking distance, or at least within reach of transit. But even in the suburbs like where I am, not even out into semi-rural areas, you are likely to have at least a 3-5 mile drive just to do your regular shopping and there's very little chance that where you work will be within a reasonable distance of public transport. I may be able to get a train to Chicago from a station less than a mile from my house, but there are limited suburban options between. I could, theoretically, get a train to work but I would be left with a 45 minute walk from the station, along a 45mph road with no footpath for the majority of the walk. And that's on a good day with no snow
