I can recall at least two drama documentaries regarding this, both ended up with thdcwalls , barriers, guns, fences coming down as the inevitable pressure from the havenots defeated the will to resist from the haves .

Global inequality will grow and people will move., one day that movement will not be unarmed floods of refugees and migrants but those who want to take what we have by force.
It has happened thought out the history of mankind and our ancestors could not find a solution and neither will we..
We should enjoy what we have for as long as we have it..
One short term solutions , spend billions to keep the have its in their home countries, pay them to stay there.
21st century Danegeld..

Is it Cape Blue who says young men leave a society for selfish reasons, making things worse for those left behind? That's vilifying them isn't it miss?
Cape Blue schooled by a 10 year old borrowing my account.

No at all but any of your solutions are just short term.

Perhaps we should focus on heregeld instead?

Saying "Having the young men leave a society drains it of its energy and dynamism, making things worse for those left behind." is not "vilifying" anyone, it's an adult having an adult conversation about migration and its impacts - you should try it sometime, once you've finished school.

Ah, so saying people leave things worse for those left behind isn't the least bit critical of them. It's no wonder people don't believe a word you say.

This newer report has more of those numbers. These reports caught my attention on Friday night because they were in Matias Romero, and I've been through there, and over much of the route they're on now. The mountainous parts I travelled by train, and it was sufficiently hairy that I imagine walking would be hard.

"It was a huge blow to the migrants, many of them families with young children
The UN has estimated about 2,300 children started out in this caravan."

Sinthia Mercedes Guitterez by her own admission does not have an Asylum claim, she seems to hope she will be let in but no clarity on what basis.
She does have a Sister in Mexico, no mention of any US family, and that seems to be her fall back. Unclear why is she need to flee somewhere she simply did not go and stay with her Sister.
Also begs the question if there is so much interest in Canada would not air tickets be a much easier way of fleeing to Canada?

That's what I said, I didn't "vilify" the young men for doing it, I didn't criticize them for doing it, I might do it myself in their position, instead I mentioned a significant downside of it happening - this is normal adult discussion, which you clearly are unable to comprehend.
Do grow up, your petty personal attacks are very dull and doubtless as boring for the rest of the forum as they are for me.

What's "do grow up" and telling me I don't understand adult discussions then?

I don't know why you bother with this. Anyone else that you might be influencing by pretending to be reasonable can surely see right through you.

Since you read it you're aware that there is no mention in the text or the video of them wanting to go to Canada, (although I have seen it from other sources).

Why cant they just close the border? Nothing going out and nothing going in. The chaos on the Mexican side might just convince them to close their borders down south before the migrants cross

U.S. farmers would not be happy, to say the least.
Add to that the damage to the auto sector from losing all those imported parts, not to mention vehicle exports. Those are just a few examples. It would just be asking for an economic disaster.

I guess you are not aware of how much trade between the 2 countries crosses that border. " U.S. agricultural and related product exports totaled USD 19.5 billion and accounted for nearly 12.3 percent of total U.S. exports in the sector and 65 percent of Mexico’s total agricultural imports."
U.S. farmers would not be happy, to say the least.

We in California are already being taxed to the hilt and much of that is going to illegals being sheltered in sanctuary cities. It's all very well for the liberal pols to support a policy of sanctuary which of course is a way for them to play up to the Hispanic vote but these pols are not the ones paying for it all.
