Just amuses me, look at what they do not what they say. The BBB includes a subsidy for EV's well if they are US and Unionised. So GM gets it but not Tesla even though Tesla is generally acknowledged to pay higher wages. However UAW does financially support the Dems and pretty sure Tesla does not, pay to play.

I have always had an interest in how Empires rise and fall, mainly from the Military perspective but often it was not the Military aspect that caused the collapse. I never thought I would see it happen in a lifetime.

The British Empire took maybe 50 years, WW2 was the final demise. Intriguing to see how things pan out, no western country has a right to first world living standards, there seems to be an expectation that it will continue for ever like this, that seems very unlikely.

The EV subsidies the US proposed/passed/I don't know the status is irking the Canadian government and it could lead to automakers moving more production from Canada to the US.

Biden is on a roll at ruffling feathers over trade these days...

"When U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ordered the Biden administration to restart MPP, faulting the White House for ending it without fully considering the consequences, he acknowledged it could only return with Mexico’s consent.

The Biden administration appealed, but the Supreme Court upheld the decision, leaving U.S. officials to hammer out a new agreement with Mexico."

"Odd" you left that out.

Mods do not like you quoting whole articles.

Sadly consequences seem not to be considered, Afghanistan comes to mind. He has had nearly a year to get systems in place.

Why would you have to quote the fact that the Biden Administration was required to restart the program by the Supreme Court? Are you incapable of expressing things in your own words?

Only part of the story, that was the end result, as policies were changed but nothing done to deal with the consequences.

“Remain in Mexico and other policies that flout asylum laws and treaties are inhumane and unjust. Every day they are in place, they deliver people seeking protection to places where they are targets of brutal attacks and kidnappings perpetrated by deadly cartels and corrupt Mexican officers.”

Another part of the story.

Ah, so just a coincidence that you keep leaving out the important parts of the story and therefore accidentally keep falsely presenting reality in a way that aligns with your political views.

Just another example of policies implemented with no consideration for the consequences

Makes you wonder where Kamala is, this is her baby.

If you're concerned about there being no consideration of the consequences, it should be in the Trump thread given it's a Trump policy that the courts required the Biden Administration to reinstate. "Strangely", I don't recall you ever posting about Trump's immigration policies.

Random thought, but where has this habit come from of referring to female politicians by their first names?

Should we be talking about Joe, and Donald, and Mitch and so forth?

I had thought about that and decided better here because it was due to Biden inaction it has happened. The issue left and the inevitable consequence occurred.

No, it's due to the Supreme Court forcing the Biden Administration to reinstate a Trump era policy.

Did you post on the Trump thread about Trump Administration inaction? Why was the issue left for the Biden Administration to "solve"?

Because he removed a policy without dealing with the consequences. If he had addressed the consequences there would have been no case
